Clark talks about 'Hometown Pride'

You don’t have to be a star in the National Football League to give something back or show your hometown pride. It’s something you can do every day by giving a favor, showing you care or offering a smile. That was the message from Livermore native and NFL All-Pro tight end Dallas Clark, who spoke last Friday to members of the Humboldt/Dakota City Chamber of Commerce at their annual meeting. The luncheon was held at Rustix Restaurant and Reception in downtown Humboldt. Clark said having pride in your hometown is an attitude that you carry with you. Something you want to tell others about. “My teammates don’t get it. When I talk about my hometown, I’m sure it looks boring to them. “Reggie Wayne (Dallas’s former Colts teammate) knows about Humboldt, Iowa. He asks me, is that where we go to get groceries?” That line drew a big laugh from the Chamber members in attendance.
