Day Care issues discussed by supervisors

For the past two years, a group of concerned citizens and business leaders in the community have been meeting to discuss a crucial need in the county, affordable child care for working parents. “People came to me because it has gone beyond just a need for day care and become a significant workforce issue,” said Humboldt County Economic Development Director Alissa Reinholdt. Reinholdt spoke about the matter at Monday’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting. “There are not enough quality openings in the county to fill the need,” Reinholdt said. The effort to create a community day care service is in the beginning stages. To read more about it, get this week's Humboldt Independent newspaper by clicking on the link above.
