Wildcat boys top St. Edmond, girls fall

Humboldt's varsity boys' basketball team breezed to an 88-55 victory over Fort Dodge St. Edmond Tuesday night (Jan. 20) in the Humboldt gym. Humboldt's girls fell to the visiting Gaels by a 70-52 final count. The Wildcat girls are now 7-6 overall on the season, 5-3 in the North Central Conference. Humboldt's boys improved to 8-4 overall, 5-2 in the NCC. The Wildcats will travel to Hampton on Friday, Jan. 23, to face the Bulldogs in another league contest. Wildcat wrestlers move to 20-3 overall in duals

Humboldt's wrestling team moved to 20-3 overall on the season by beating Algona (54-21) and West Hancock (48-28) in a quadrangular in Algona on Tuesday (Jan. 20). The Wildcats lost to Osage, 57-21. Humboldt will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 22, for their final regular season home meet when they host Clear Lake. Wrestlers move to 5-1 in NCC duals

Humboldt's wrestling team moved its North Central Conference dual record to 5-1 on the season by sweeping Hampton-Dumont (40-33) and Iowa Falls-Alden (55-23) on Jan. 15 at Iowa Falls. HHS girls top Algona, boys fall

HUMBOLDT - Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team picked up another North Central Conference victory here Friday night while the Wildcat boys fell to visiting Algona. The girls posted a 55-49 victory while the boys fell 69-47. Avery Terwilliger scored 18 points and Kessa Kuyper added 14 to lead Humboldt's girls, 6-5 overall, 4-2 in the NCC. Jaxon Heinz netted 16 and Thomas Orness made 10 to lead the Wildcat boys, 7-4 overall, 4-2 in conference play.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Humboldt boys win, girls fall at South Central Calhoun

Humboldt's varsity basketball teams split two games on the road at South Central Calhoun Tuesday night (Jan. 13). The girls fell 60-31 while the boys came out on top 64-52.
