Kody Oppedahl wins George Lee golf title

Kody Oppedahl, a 2007 Humboldt High School graduate, shot a one-over-par 109 to win the George Lee Memorial Golf Tournament held Saturday (June 6) at Humboldt Country Club. HHS baseball team 5-2 overall

Humboldt's varsity baseball team is now 5-2 overall after splitting two games in their own tournament on June 6. The Wildcats lost 4-3 to Estherville in 11 innings then buried Garner-Hayfield 16-1 in 4 innings as Brady Shelgren pitched a no-hitter. HHS also beat SEV 15-8 on June 4 and lost 8-4 to Hampton-Dumont on June 3. Wildcat softball team goes 1-1 in own tournament

Humboldt's varsity softball team went 1-1 on the day in their own tournament on Saturday, June 6. The Wildcats lost 9-6 to Mason City in the first game and won 4-1 in eight innings over Eagle Grove in the second contest. Cassie Shimon and Beth Duffield each had 2 hits for HHS in the first game. In the second game, Taylor Gidel had three hits and Avery Terwilliger pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts.Humboldt, 4-2 overall, visits Clear Lake on June 8.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Girls soccer team falls in regional, 10-0

Humboldt's varsity girls' soccer team ended their season Friday night (June 5) in a 10-0 loss to Waterloo Columbus in Waterloo. Columbus will now meet Denver in a regional final on June 8 in Denver. Wildcat softball team wins pair of 14-4 games

Humboldt's varsity softball team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 14-4, 6-inning victory over Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Thursday night (June 4) in Humboldt. HHS moved to 2-1 on the season after pounding Hampton-Dumont, 14-4 on June 3 in Hampton. The Wilcats drilled Bulldog pitching for 12 hits as Olivia Birdsell went 4-for-4 with a double at the plate. Avery Terwilliger earned the win pitching for Humboldt as she scattered six hits and struck out nine. The Wildcats will host Mason City and Eagle Grove on Saturday, June 6, in a triangular starting at 10 a.m. The Wildcats will visit Clear Lake on Monday, June 8, and Emmetsburg on Tuesday, June 9.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Wildcat baseball team off to 3-0 start

The Humboldt High baseball team is off to a 3-0 start to their season. The Wildcats defeated Forest City 8-3 on Tuesday night (June 2). Humboldt pounded Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 17-1 on June 1 and shutout Cherokee 6-0 on May 28 at home.The Wildcats host Hampton-Dumont on June 3 and Southeast Valley on June 4. They will host their own four-team tournament on Saturday, June 6, starting at 10 a.m. and then travel to Clear Lake on June 8.
