The Spencer Tigers scored twice in the opening two minutes of the game and went on to defeat Humboldt, 24-13 in a Class 3A non-district football game in Spencer tonight (Aug. 28) in season-opening action.The Wildcats' two scores came on a 45-yard fumble return by Devon Clark and a 1-yard run by Kyle McBeth. For Ray “Bubba” Sorensen, celebrating local heroes and veterans in general is what it’s all about. He puts his message on a rock, on a large granite boulder, and it’s out there for all the world to see and appreciate. Humboldt had four girls compete for the Fort Dodge Senior High School swimming team in their season opener at home Tuesday night (Aug. 25) in the Dodger Pool.
