NFL recognizes Bruce Reimers and Dallas Clark

Humboldt County's two Super Bowl participants, Bruce Reimers of Humboldt and Dallas Clark of Livermore, talked about their experiences in the big game in an interview last week at Humboldt High School, where they received gold-colored footballs given by the NFL to every high school which has produced a participant in the 50th annual event.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Humboldt boys in 81-65 triumph

Humboldt's varsity boys' basketball team picked up another North Central Conference victory Friday night (Jan. 29) by beating Iowa Falls-Alden, 81-65. Humboldt is 6-10 overall, 4-7 in the NCC. Thomas Orness scored 18 points and Drew Thomas added 16 to lead HHS. See story in the Independent.

Humboldt girls hold off Iowa Falls-Alden, 58-52

Avery Terwilliger scored 28 points and Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team held off a late rally by Iowa Falls-Alden to secure a 58-52 victory Friday night (Jan. 29) in Humboldt. The victory improved Humboldt's record to 10-6 overall, 8-3 in the North Central Conference. HHS hosts Algona Bishop Garrigan on Feb. 1 in non-conference play.

Wildcat matmen go 2-1 at Ballard, finish 17-10

Humboldt's varsity wrestling team closed out their regular dual season by winning two of three matches in a four-team meet at Ballard Huxley Thursday night (Jan. 28). Humboldt defeated Greene County (58-18), Perry (41-35) and lost 51-21 to Ballard. The Wildcats are now 17-10 overall on the season and were 3-4 in North Central Conference dual action.Humboldt wraps up its regular season in the Guthrie Center Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30. Wildcat boys win, girls fall at Clarion

Humboldt's varsity girl-boy basketball teams split a North Central Conference doubleheader at Clarion Tuesday night (Jan. 26). The Wildcat girls fell to the Cowgirls, 51-47, while the boys were victorious in overtime, 78-77.Humboldt will play host to Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday, Jan. 29. Humboldt's boys are now 5-10 overall, 3-7 in the NCC. The girls are 9-6 overall, 7-3 in the NCC. The girls also host Bishop Garrigan of Algona on Feb. 1 in a JV-varsity, girls' only doubleheader. Today we are visiting another employee from Bank Iowa. Brooke McCartan is an Ag and Commercial Lender. She joined Bank Iowa May of 2012.
