Humboldt girls roll past St. Edmond, 56-27

Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team pushed their record to 3-2 overall on the season by rolling past Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 56-27 Tuesday night (Dec. 13) in a North Central Conference game in the Humboldt gym.

The Wildcats, 2-1 in the NCC, will host No. 8 ranked Clear Lake Friday, Dec. 16, in a key conference clash starting at 6:15 p.m.

St. Edmond holds off Humboldt boys, 84-73

Fort Dodge St. Edmond held off a second half rally by Humboldt to post an 84-73 victory over the Wildcats in a North Central Conference boys' basketball contest in the Humboldt gym Tuesday night (Dec. 13). Humboldt slipped to 2-2 overall on the season, 0-2 in NCC play.

Humboldt returns to action on Friday night (Dec. 16) in the Humboldt gym when they play host to Clear Lake.

Humboldt wrestlers go 5-0 to win Ogden Duals

Humboldt's varsity wrestling team went 5-0 on the day to win the Ogden Duals on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Wildcats defeated Carroll Kuemper 42-33 in the championship match. Humboldt posted wins over Carroll (59-18), Woodward-Granger (51-27), Greene County (63-16) and Gilbert (51-22) to earn a shot in the finals against Kuemper.

Wildcats, 11-0 overall on the season, return to action on Thursday, Dec. 15, when they visit Webster City to face the Lynx, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Pocahontas Area in a quad starting at 5 p.m.

Avery Terwilliger scored 20 points and Abby Zaugg added 10 to lead the Humboldt girls' basketball team past the Webster City Lynx, 63-29 in a North Central Conference game in the Humboldt gym on Friday night (Dec. 9). Kaylee Sawyer and Halie George each had eight for Humboldt, which improved to 2-2 overall on the season, 1-1 in NCC play.

Humboldt returns to action at home on Tuesday, Dec. 13, when they entertain Fort Dodge St. Edmond in another NCC matchup.

Humboldt boys fall to Webster City, 65-47

Humboldt suffered its first loss of the season at home Friday night (Dec. 9) in a North Central Conference game with the Webster City Lynx, falling 65-47. Eli Sande scored 11 points to pace Humboldt, which slipped to 2-1 overall, 0-1 in the NCC. Drew Thomas netted eight points while Calvin Carlson and Owen Terwilliger each had seven for Humboldt.

The Wildcats return to action at home on Dec. 13 when Fort Dodge St. Edmond comes to town for another North Central Conference game.

Wildcats wrestlers whip SE, Algona

Humboldt's varsity wrestling team opened their North Central Conference dual season Thursday night (Dec. 8) in Algona and posted a pair of dual wins. The Wildcats demolished Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 84-0, and stopped Algona, 38-28. Algona was a 75-3 winner over St. Edmond.

Humboldt, now 6-0 overall on the year, 2-0 in NCC action, will compete in the Ogden Duals on Saturday, Dec. 10.
