No. 13 Humboldt girls in 51-37 victory at Clarion

The No. 13 rated Humboldt girls' basketball team got back on the winning track Friday night (Feb. 3) in Clarion. Humboldt posted a 51-37 victory over the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls. Abby Zaugg scored 14 points to lead the Wildcats. Humboldt improved to 13-6 overall, 10-3 in the North Central Conference.

WEBSTER CITY UPSETS NO. 13 RATED WILDCAT GIRLS, 48-45

Webster City rallied in the second half to upset the No. 13 ranked (Class 3A) Humboldt girls basketball team Thursday night (Feb. 2) in the Humboldt gym, 48-45.

Clark signs with Iowa Central

The Humboldt High School Speech Team performed at District Group Contest at Manson-Northwest Webster High School on Saturday. A total of 13 groups performed, and 10 of them earned Division One ratings and will perform at State Group Contest in Spencer on Feb. 4.

The Humboldt High School Drill Team presented “Rockin’ It Old School” at HHS Drill Team Night on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Humboldt High School. Students Pre-K through eighth grade took part in a morning clinic and then performed in the evening along with the HHS Drill Team. There was a Co-Ed routine and a Daddy Daughter performance.

Drew Thomas will walk on at Iowa

Humboldt High multi-sport athlete Drew Thomas will walk on to the University of Iowa football team next fall. Thomas, a senior at Humboldt High School, signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday (Feb. 1) to play for the Hawkeyes. He will be a regular walk-on. Recruited as an "athlete", Thomas will play in the defensive secondary or at a receiver position.
