Humboldt boys fall at Webster City, 10-1

In a battle of two teams trying to grab first-place in North Central Conference baseball, the Webster City Lynx handed Humboldt a 10-1 loss Wednesday night (June 14) at Webster City. Reese DeWinter had three hits to highlight Humboldt's evening. The win moved WC's record to 10-2 overall, 6-0 in the NCC. Humboldt slipped to 10-5 overall, 4-2 in conference play.

5-run 5th leads HHS past Cowboys, 9-4

Humboldt scored five runs in the fifth inning to upend Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 9-4 Monday night (June 12) in Humboldt in varsity baseball.
The Wildcats got a five-hit pitching performance from Owen Newton, who worked all seven innings and allowed four earned runs, five walks and struck out six.
Humboldt totaled 11 hits in the game as Devon Clark, Joey Busse, Newton, Reese DeWinter and Jacob Thurm each had two hits for the Wildcats.

Humboldt visits Fort Dodge St. Edmond on June 19 and host Clear Lake on June 21.

Wildcat softball team in 13-0 victory at Forest City

The No. 2 ranked Humboldt softball team traveled to Forest City on Thursday night (June 15) and shutout the Indians, 13-0 in five innings. Humboldt pounded out 14 hits in the non-conference game. Carlie Thompson went 3-for-4 at bat and Beth Duffield was 3-for-3 to lead the Wildcat offense. Ellie Jacobson pitched a 4-hitter with nine strikeouts. HHS improved to 15-1 overall. They host St. Edmond and Southeast Valley on Friday, starting at 2 p.m.

WILDCATS IN 9-3 VICTORY AT WEBSTER CITY
Humboldt maintained its first-place standing in North Central Conference softball Wednesday night in Webster City by stopping the Lynx, 9-3 in seven innings. Ellie Jacobson struck out 11 from the pitching circle for Humboldt, which totaled seven hits in the game. Jacobson was 3-for-4 at bat with 2 RBI to lead the offense.

HHS girls to 12-1 after stopping Iowa Falls-Alden, 4-2

The No. 5 ranked Humboldt softball team improved to 12-1 overall, 5-1 in the North Central Conference by turning back Iowa Falls-Alden, 4-2 Friday night (June 9) at Iowa Falls. Mady Lange hit a solo home run, Kelsey Peters and Avery Terwilliger each hit a double to lead Humboldt.

Humboldt returns to action on Monday at home against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.

Wildcat girls blank Belmond-Klemme, 10-0

Humboldt's varsity softball team got back on the winning track Thursday night (June 8) by shutting out Belmond-Klemme, 10-0 in five innings.

Ellie Jacobson pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and Humboldt totaled eight hits, led by Avery Terwilliger and Kelsey Peters with three each.

Humboldt, 11-1 overall, 4-1 in conference play, returns to action at Iowa Falls on Friday, June 9.
