Clear Lake scored the go ahead run in the top of the sixth and held off Humboldt, 2-1 in a key North Central Conference baseball game in Humboldt Friday night (June 1). Colby Clarken pitched six solid innings for the Wildcats but it wasn't enough as Humboldt fell to 4-4 overall on the season, 1-1 in conference play. HHS totaled eight hits as Hudson Gargano and Joey Busse each had two hits.

Humboldt fell twice in their own tournament on June 2, losing 4-3 to Central Springs and 18-5 to Estherville-LC. Jacob Thurm doubled to lead Humboldt’s five hit attack against CS. Caden Matson took the loss on the mound in relief of starter Isaac Thurm. Hudson Gargano took the loss pitching against ELC.

Humboldt was upended by Southeast Valley, 6-3 in a non-conference game on the road on May 31. Joey Busse took the loss pitching for Humboldt, which got two hits apiece from Owen Newton, Reese DeWinter and Cade Witzke.
