Humboldt ended its 2018 football season in dominating fashion Friday night (Oct. 19) by shutting out the Perry Blue Jays, 45-0 on Mason Maach Field in a Class 3A District 2 contest.
The victory gave Humboldt an overall record of 4-5, 3-2 in district play. Perry fell to 0-9, 0-5.
Lucas Volf scored two touchdowns to lead Humboldt. He had a scoring run of eight yards and intercepted a pass and returned 29 yards for a score in the second half. He also booted a 28-yard field goal. Jamison Heinz scored on a 14-yard run and Sawyer Savery added a four-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Joey Busse also hooked up with Matt Miller for a 20-yard touchdown pass play.
