On Monday night, following a public hearing, the Humboldt City Council on a 4-0 vote (Councilman Joel Goodell was not in attendance) agreed to accept an offer to purchase the property at 30 Taft St. N. from developers Don Olson and Larry Beilke. The purchase price is for $1.
Humboldt City Administrator Travis Goedken reported that while he fielded calls and discussed the former post office building with several parties, the request to purchase from Olson and Beilke was the only one received.
Beilke started and has operated the Tractor Lift Brewery since 2015. He said he started beer-making as a hobby at his home. He started making larger quantities and opened a new location at 708 Sumner Ave.
