The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service has been named Volunteer Ambulance Service of the Year for 2020.
The award will be presented by the Iowa EMS Association at a ceremony on May 15 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. This is the fourth time the HCMH Ambulance Service has been honored with previous Volunteer Service of the Year Awards presented in 2000, 2002, 2012 and now 2020.
HCMH Ambulance Director Mike Sexe said the volunteer service responded to a record 916 ambulance calls last year with 31 volunteers on the crew.
