Wildcats expect to challenge in new football district

Class 3A District 2 will present plenty of challenges for the Humboldt High football team this season, but Humboldt veteran head coach Greg Thomas and his staff are excited about the opportunity in front of the Wildcats as they begin their 2014 season this week. Thomas and the Wildcats return 14 lettermen from last year’s squad that went 6-4 and finished 3-3 and fourth in rugged 3A District 2. Bolstered by the return of a talented 18-member senior class and an influx of talent from the junior and sophomore classes, Humboldt shouldn’t have any trouble competing in a new district this fall which includes Algona, Webster City, Carroll, Boone, Perry and Greene County.See complete story in the Humboldt Independent.
