Youthful Wolverines embrace rugged 8-man district 2

Pete Kapustynski, head coach of the West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate football team, won’t have to worry about attracting any pre-season district title talk from anyone. And that suits the veteran head coach just fine entering the 2014 season. He would just as soon enter the season under the radar screen, so to speak. The Wolverines graduated 10 seniors from last year’s squad that went 10-2 and advanced into the second round of the Eight-Man playoffs and were second and 6-1 in District 2. The Wolverines return four lettermen in senior end Jack Fehr (183), senior offensive lineman Carson Wirtz (239), junior running back Nolan Grimm (175) and junior running back Travis Fehr (150).
