Humboldt falls to Boone in substate final, 4-2

Humboldt's bid for a state baseball tournament berth came up short Wednesday night (July 22) as the Wildcats fell to Boone, 4-2 in a Class 3A substate final played in Boone.The Toreadors scored all of their runs in the fourth inning and held off the Wildcats in the final two innings to advance into the state tournament to be held next week at Principal Park in Des Moines with a 23-10 record.Humboldt bows out with a 24-8 record.
