Davis named 2015 Fair Queen

Haley Davis of Gilmore City, a longtime member of the Weaver Valley 4-H Club and an incoming sophomore at Iowa State University, was crowned 2015 Humboldt County Fair Queen Wednesday night at the grandstand. Davis was also named Miss Congeniality in judging that took place on July 16. She will receive $1,000 in scholarships, several prizes from local contest sponsors and a chance to represent Humboldt County at the Iowa State Fair in August. Rebecca Wilhelm of Hardy was named first runner-up. She will receive a $250 scholarship and several prizes. Samantha Ferry of Badger was named second runner up and received flowers and other prizes. Thirty girls competed for the title of Little Miss Humboldt County and about a dozen boys competed for the title of Little Mister Humboldt County. The winners were selected by a draw from last year’s Little Miss and Mister. Avyon Sutterfield of Humboldt, son of April Sutterfield, was crowned Little Mister Humboldt County and Audrey Collins of Livermore, daughter of Justin and Jennifer Collins, was chosen as Little Miss Humboldt County.
