Channel 13 finds a town divided

Humboldt was able to show its true colors Wednesday, either cardinal and gold or black and gold, take your pick. The occasion was the arrival of the WHO-TV cameras and the annual RVTV tour which stops in various locations in Iowa during the week of the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game. There were plenty of activities, including kids' games and inflatables, a performance by the Wildcat marching bands, adult and youth tricycle races, booths with give aways and prize drawings and a Hawkeye/Cyclone tug-o-war which was somewhat less competitive than the game expects to be, with the Cyclone team dominating. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves until a rain shower put a damper on things about 8:30 p.m., but then the party was just moved indoors, and was still going strong by the time of the 10 o'clock news. To see more photos of the event, check out the Sept. 17 Humboldt Independent.
