Busse wins 132 pound NCC title, Wildcat wrestlers 4th

Humboldt High freshman Joey Busse won the 132-pound class to lead the Wildcat wrestling team to a fourth-place finish in the North Central Conference tournament on Jan. 23 in Hampton. Wildcat junior Gus Arnold (152) and senior Zane Russell (126) finished runner-up for the Wildcats, who totaled 143.5 points. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows won the meet with 231 points, followed by Webster City (205.5) and Clear Lake (167). Algona (105), Hampton-Dumont (105), Iowa Falls-Alden (103.5) and Fort Dodge St. Edmond (34) round out the team scoring.Humboldt will travel to Ballard Huxley on Jan. 28 for a quad which will include Perry and Greene County. HHS will wrap up its regular season on Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Guthrie Center Invitational.
