Humboldt wrestlers advance 3 into 2A district tournament

Humboldt's varsity wrestling team advanced three individuals into a Class 2A district meet in Webster City on Saturday, Feb. 13. Humboldt earned three spots in sectional tournament action held in Garner on Saturday, Feb. 6. The Wildcats' Joey Busse was the 132-pound champion while Trayton Harris (195) and Nate Kollmorgen (182) were runner-up at their respective weights. The top two placewinners at each weight advance.Humboldt finished third in the team scoring with 165 points. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (256) and Webster City (234) finished first and second, respectively, to earn a spot in the regional dual tournament on Feb. 9.See full story, photos and results in this week's Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
