Storm Lake boys top Humboldt in 3-point deluge, 99-85

Humboldt's varsity boys' basketball team fell at Storm Lake in their regular season finale on Feb. 18, falling 99-85 in a game which both teams combined for 27 3-point baskets. Storm Lake made 16 of them to upend the Wildcats, who slip to 7-14 overall. Thomas Orness scored 32 points and Devon Clark made 16 to pace Humboldt. Storm Lake moved to 9-12 overall.Humboldt will begin post-season tournament play on Monday, Feb. 22, in a 6:30 p.m. game with Algona in the Webster City gym. The winner will advance on to a district final Feb. 25 against Webster City or Iowa Falls-Alden, who play at 8 p.m. Monday night in Webster City.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
