Supervisors bring suit against drainage contractor

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors have filed a petition at equity in Humboldt County District Court against Schany Construction of Graettinger. Schany, through its attorney, have responded to the filing. In the filed documents in Humboldt County District Court, the county seeks to adjudicate all rights to retained funds from the company ($78,131.78). The suit also seeks to enforce liability on the performance and payment bond. The suit also maintains a breach of contract on the part of Schany, express and implied warranty of work and negligence on the part of the Palo Alto County contractor. Schany Construction has filed a reply in district court, denying many of the claims by the county.
