Humboldt County Fair promises top acts

Although its five months away (July 26-Aug. 1), the Humboldt County Fair Board has a top-notch schedule of entertainment set for the 2016 Humboldt County Fair. This year, the Fair Board booked SongBlast dueling guitars for a Thursday night (July 28) musical and comedy performance at the grandstand. The best part of the show is that it is free. What’s better than two dueling pianos? A pair of interactive dueling guitars delivering a fun, non-offensive stream of endless songs from yesterday and today. Pat Balder and Glen Everhart bring their consummate stage professionalism and high energy performance to the Humboldt County Fair grandstand stage. See video of their performances at www.songblast.net. They’ve played at the Clay County Fair, Minnesota State Fair, plus five other state fairs corporate events, and much more. The opening act will be comic magician Jerry Frasier. “There’s no excuse not to come to the fair when you have that good of entertainment. It’s comedy and music, very entertaining. We’re spending money to get good acts, and people will enjoy this one,” Fair Board secretary Paul Davis said. Other grandstand entertainment during the fair's run will be harness races on Tuesday, July 26; The Humboldt County Queen/Little Miss and Mister and 4-H fashion review on Wednesday, July 27; Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League tractor and pickup pull on Friday, July 29; Chuckwagon races on Saturday, July 30: and motocross races (Sunday morning and afternoon) and the Tough Truck competition on Sunday night, July 31.
