High school football schedules released by IHSAA

The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the 2016 and 2017 football schedules, one month after releasing the new district assignments for the next two seasons.Humboldt will open the 2016 season at Webster City (Aug. 26) and host Hampton-Dumont on Sept. 2. Both games will be non-district. The Wildcats begin district play on Sept. 9 at Spencer. They'll host Algona on Sept. 16 and Storm Lake on Sept. 23. Humboldt visits Spirit Lake on Sept. 30. They'll host Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Oct. 7 in their final home game of the season. Humboldt wraps up its season at Sioux City Heelan on Oct. 14 and at LeMars on Oct. 21.West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate will open its season at home on Aug.26 against Northwood-Kensett. The Wolverines visit North Iowa on Sept. 2 and Kingsley-Pierson on Sept. 9, before returning home on Sept. 16 to host St. Mary's Remsen. Clay Central-Everly visits West Bend on Sept. 23. The Wolverines host Harris-Lake Park on Sept. 30 and Siouxland Christian of Whiting on Oct. 7. WBM/GCB visits Newell-Fonda on Oct. 14.
