Humboldt Council hears about emergency management plans

Humboldt County will be required to update its hazard mitigation plan within the next two years. Humboldt County Emergency Management Coordinator Melody Larson was at the Humboldt City Council meeting Monday night seeking volunteers to sit on the committee to update the plan. “It should not be more than four or five meetings. I’m seeking at least two representatives from each community in the county. I’m asking for the city councils to help me find those two representatives. I’d like a person who is a historian about the community and has a vested interest in the community and its livelihood. For the second person, I’d like someone who is a mover and shaker in the community and can get things done,” Larson said. People interested in volunteering to be on the committee may contact Humboldt City Hall or Mayor Dan Scholl.
