Gotch Catch Wrestling Tournament is July 3 in Humboldt

This life-sized bronze statue of Frank A. Gotch was erected as a memorial to the Humboldt native son and his contribution to athletics and our community. Gotch's contributions will be recognized again with a special World Catch Wrestling Tournament at Humboldt High School on Sunday, July 3.

Wrestling history will come alive on July 3 in Humboldt, when the first ever Frank Gotch World Catch Championship is held in the hometown of the most legendary figure in catch wrestling history.
The Catch Wrestling Alliance (CWA) headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, will hold its third annual event on Sunday, July 3, in Humboldt, at the Humboldt High School gymnasium.
“We are tremendously excited to make this announcement,” said Dr. Raul Ramirez, executive director of the CWA and a catch wrestling instructor and practitioner.
