Wildcats sweep Roland-Story in Region 3 semifinal

The Humboldt High volleyball team moved within one match of the state tournament by sweeping Roland-Story in 3 straight sets Tuesday night (Oct. 25) in the Humboldt gym. The Wildcats prevailed by scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-17. Humboldt improved to 33-1 on the season while Roland-Story bows out at 13-22.

Abby Zaugg and Taylor Gidel each had 11 kills at the net to lead Humboldt. Beth Duffield had 14 digs and Kelsey Peters made 36 assists.

The Wildcats will now face North Polk in a Class 3A Region 3 championship match on Monday, Oct. 31, in Story City. North Polk, 35-9, advanced with a 3-1 victory over Gilbert Monday night.
