Memorial trees leave lasting impression

It is fitting that the Humboldt County Historical Museum east of Dakota City is promoting the beautification of its grounds through a Memorial Tree Program.
Several families are beginning to take advantage of the program, as a way to honor or memorialize loved ones.
The Historical Association suggests memorial trees in memory of a loved one, in honor of a dedicated service member, or to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, retirement or other occasion.
On Saturday, Museum volunteers helped plant memorial trees honoring Marilyn Dodgen and LeAnn Fevold Haynes, along with family members present for the occasion.
