Vought leads SNU volleyball

Kaitlynn Vought’s final season on the volleyball court is shaping up to be an impressive finale.

Vought, a 2013 Humboldt High School graduate and a senior member of the Southern Nazarene University volleyball team, was recently named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Vought, a 6-foot-1, middle hitter/outside blocker, recently became just the second player in school history to record at least 30 digs and 20 kills in a 3-0 victory over Cameron University on Oct. 11. Vought had 30 digs and 21 kills in the win.
In a 3-2 victory over Arkansas Tech on Oct. 22, Vought made 11 kills and seven blocks. The triumph gave SNU an overall record of 12-8, 7-3 in conference play.
SNU had six matches left in its regular season as of this writing. The conference championship will be played Nov. 17-19 in Hot Springs, AR. NCAA central region championship play begins Dec. 1.
