Humboldt girls 9th, boys 11th in 3A state cross country

Humboldt's girls placed 9th and the Wildcat boys were 11th in the Class 3A State Cross Country Championships held Saturday (Oct. 29) at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.

Isabella Luu paced the Humboldt girls with a 15th place finish in 19:40. She was followed by teammates Gabby Kent (27th), Bryce Gidel (34th), Lauren Erickson (112), Emily Schaffer (118th), Kate Curran (124th) and Avery Terwilliger (132nd).

Denny Pederson was 48th in 17:15 to lead the Wildcat boys. He was backed by Ryan Courtney (52nd), Joe Kunert (60th), Ivan Rasmussen (68th), Isaac Thurm (111th), Tyler Craven (121st) and Calvin Carlson (122nd).
