The Humboldt High School Speech Team performed at District Group Contest at Manson-Northwest Webster High School on Saturday. A total of 13 groups performed, and 10 of them earned Division One ratings and will perform at State Group Contest in Spencer on Feb. 4.
Groups advancing to state include: Reader’s Theater (Quinn Christensen, Alex Mason, Nate Wright, Meg Grice, Carter Holm and Sawyer Savery); Improv One (Alex Mason and Nate Wright); Musical Theater (Keagan Burmeister and Jack Halvorson); Solo Mime (Anna Lenz); Solo Mime (Emily Schaffer); Ensemble Acting (Abie Collins, Emily Crowley, Kate Currier, Taylor Sandven and Amber Wittrock); Ensemble Acting (Meg Grice, Anna Lenz and Emily Schaffer); Improv 2 (Jack Halvorson, Carter Holm and Sawyer Savery); Freshman groups Reader’s Theater (Megan Abens, Valorie Cox, Lauren Erickson, Donovan Froisland, Tristyn Fuller, Jacob Halvorson, Erin Howard, Logan Kehoe, Katie Wilhelm and Emie Wolter) Improv (Maddie Dahl, Hope Hjelmeland, Holly Kirchhoff and Tia Woeste).
Groups receiving Division Two ratings include: Ensemble Acting (Brook Hjelmeland, Isabella Luu, Madeleine Ruzicka and Teisha Srithran); Freshman Ensemble Acting (Maddie Dahl, Hope Hjelmeland, Holly Kirchhoff and Teisha Srithran); and Improv (Valerie Cox, Donovan Froisland, Tristyn Fuller, Jacob Halvorson and Logan Kehoe).
