Wildcat girls end regular season in 57-43 victory at Belmond

Avery Terwilliger scored 21 points, Halie George made 15 and Abby Zaugg scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Humboldt girls’ basketball team past Belmond-Klemme, 57-43 on Feb. 9 in a non-conference, regular season finale for both teams.
Humboldt, which ended is regular season at 15-6 overall, overcame a sluggish first quarter before taking charge late in the first half, outscoring B-K 24-5 in the second period.

Humboldt ends the regular season with a 15-6 overall record. The Wildcats begin Class 3A post-season tournament at home on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they host Hampton-Dumont in a Region 4 first round game starting at 7 p.m. The winner of Saturday's game will face North Polk or Collins-Maxwell-Baxter in a semifinal round game in Humboldt on Feb. 15.
