Humboldt girls win Region 4 opener, 55-43

Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team pulled away in the final quarter to upend Hampton-Dumont, 55-43 Saturday night (Feb. 11) in a Class 3A Region 4 tournament game inside the Humboldt gym.

The Wildcats, 16-6 overall on the season, were led by Sydney Lane's 20 points and 10 rebounds. Avery Terwilliger made 13 points and nine assists and Halie George hit for 15 points. H-D bows out at 11-10 overall.

Humboldt advances into a semifinal round game at home on Wednesday, Feb. 15, against North Polk. North Polk won their first round game, 55-28 over Collins-Maxwell-Baxter. Tipoff Wednesday night will be 7 p.m.
