The 53rd annual Humboldt/Dakota City Noon Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 15, beginning at 10 a.m., on the cement playground area north of Taft Elementary School.
Young children with their grocery bags, Easter baskets or buckets; accompanied by parents or guardians, should arrive prior to 10 a.m.
There will be three categories for youth: pre-kindergarten (can be accompanied by an adult), kindergarten/first grade, and second/third grade.
Club members will be tossing out about 200 pounds of candy that morning, thanks to the generous sponsorship of many community merchants. In addition to the candy, many of the merchants will be providing prizes, about 850 in all, that participants can redeem at the local businesses.
The club also purchased grand prizes of Easter baskets filled with prizes and games for one lucky winner in each of the age categories.
There will also be three lucky great grand prizewinners, one in each of the three age categories. The great grand prize is a new bicycle.
There will also be an opportunity for children to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny.
The public is welcome to come watch this fun and free event for the young children in the community. The Kiwanis motto is serving the children of the world.
