Humboldt girls top Lisbon, fall to Carroll

The No. 2 ranked Humboldt softball team split two home games on Saturday (June 17), edging Lisbon 5-4 and falling 6-0 to Carroll.
Beth Duffield made three hits and Avery Terwilliger tripled to lead Humboldt in the first game. Ellie Jacobson pitched an eight-hitter for HHS. In the second game, the Wildcats managed just four hits in falling to the Carroll Tigers. Avery Terwilliger took the loss pitching for Humboldt, allowing nine hits. Humboldt is now 18-2 overall.

Humboldt swept two games at home on Friday, June 16. The Wildcats defeated Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 6-1, in a contest rescheduled from May 31. Ellie Jacobson earned the win pitching for the Wildcats in the North Central Conference game. In the second game Friday evening, the Wildcats edged Southeast Valley 2-1 as Avery Terwilliger earned the win pitching for Humboldt. Terwilliger and Beth Duffield each had two hits for Humboldt in the victory.

The Wildcats will play host to Carroll and Lisbon on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.
