Humboldt softball team in 10-1 victory over H-D

Humboldt moved one step closer to winning the North Central Conference softball title Monday night by whipping Hampton-Dumont, 10-1. The Wildcats, now 24-4 overall, 11-1 in the NCC, got a six-hit pitching performance from Ellie Jacobson while Jacobson, Olivia Birdsell, Mady Lange and TaylorGidel each had two hits for Humboldt. The Wildcats visit Pocahontas Area on Tuesday, June 27, for a non-conference game.

No. 4 Wildcat girls split 4 weekend games
Humboldt's No. 4 ranked softball team split four games last weekend in tournament action. Humboldt visited Boone on June 23 and lost 10-0 to the host Toreadors. Humboldt came back to beat Chariton, 12-5. In the Pella Christian tournament on June 24, the Wildcats lost 9-1 to Albia and defeated Prairie City Monroe, 9-2.

Humboldt plays at Algona on June 28 and at Estherville on June 29. They host Iowa Falls-Alden on June 30 in their final conference game of the season. Humboldt wraps up its regular season at home on Monday, June 30, against Spencer.

Humboldt opens Class 3A Region 3 Tournament play on Wednesday, July 5, when they host Gilbert in a first round game at 7 p.m.
