League champion Humboldt dominates All-NCC softball with 9 selections

Wildcat softball team set many records, finished 5th in state tournament

North Central Conference softball champion Humboldt dominated the coaches’ post-season all-league team.
The Wildcats, who rolled through the NCC with a 13-1 record and set a school record for victories in a season at 33, had four players named to the first-team unit.
Senior shortstop Avery Terwilliger and freshman pitcher Ellie Jacobson were both unanimous first-team picks. Freshman centerfielder Carlie Thompson and freshman utility/designated hitter Mady Lange were also named to the first-team unit.
Humboldt also had four players named second-team. Senior catcher Kelsey Peters, senior rightfielder Olivia Birdsell, senior leftfielder Beth Duffield and senior third baseman Taylor Gidel were named second-team. Senior first baseman Halie George was chosen to the third-team.
