Iowa State head wrestling coach Kevin Dresser returned to his hometown of Humboldt on Saturday night to help raise money for the Cyclone Regional Training Center. More than 240 people packed Rustix to hear from Dresser and his coaching staff. "We have a plan and you're a big part of it," Dresser told the crowd as he encouraged them to pack Hilton Coliseum for ISU's home wrestling meets. "If we can pack 240 people from the Humboldt area into Rustix, we can pack Hilton Coliseum." Dresser was introduced by his hometown neighbor, coach and long time family friend Larry Leibold. Coaches Mike Zadick, Brent Metcalf and Derek St. John spoke, along with the first wrestler at the Cyclone Regional Training Center, Kyven Gadson. Preliminary figures show the night in Humboldt raised the most of any of the events they've had across the state thus far. Read more about the event, and see more photos in this week's Humboldt Independent.
