HUMBLDT GIRLS REIGN SUPREME IN NCC CROSS COUNTRY!!

There was nothing surprising about Humboldt's dominating performance in the North Central Conference girls' cross country meet held Tuesday, Oct. 10 at River Road Golf Course north of Algona.

Humboldt, ranked No. 3 in Class 3A, won the school's fifth straight conference title, scoring 24 points to easily outdistance runner-up Iowa Falls-Alden at 77. Fort Dodge St. Edmond was third with 81.

The Wildcats were led by sophomore sensation Bryce Gidel, who finished first overall in 19:19. Teammate Gabby Kent ran third in 19:48 and Isabella Luu was fifth in 20:51. Lauren Erickson ran sixth in 21:07 and Medeleine Ruzicka was ninth in 21:23.

Humboldt will now prepare for the state qualifying meet to be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, in Spencer. The top three teams and top 15 individuals from the meet will advance to the state meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday, Oct. 28.
