Humboldt wrestlers sweep EG, MNW

Humboldt’s varsity wrestling team improved its overall season dual record to 20-6 after sweeping Eagle Grove (44-21) and Manson-Northwest Webster (66-12) in non-conference action in Manson on Jan. 18.

Humboldt split a North Central Conference triangular at Fort Dodge St. Edmond Tuesday night (Jan. 16), falling 42-29 to the Webster City Lynx and crushing St. Edmond, 72-12. In a marquee match at heavyweight with the Lynx, top-ranked Cooper Lawson defeated Humboldt's Justin Jones, 6-2.

The split moved Humboldt to 18-6 overall, 4-3 in the NCC.

GO 3-2 IN OSAGE DUALS
Humboldt went 3-2 in the Osage Duals on Saturday, Jan. 13. The Wildcats defeated Osage (45-34), Dike-New Hartford (48-23), Clear Lake (33-32) and lost to Kasson-Mantorville (63-6) and Independence (36-34).

Humboldt will host the North Central Conference tournament on Saturday, Jan. 20, starting at 10 a.m.
