You can go home again. Just ask Angelique Berry, a Dakota City native and longtime city clerk, who found herself back in familiar surroundings last Friday at Dakota City Hall.
Berry, who served as Dakota City Clerk for 10 years, from the spring of 2007 to the spring of 2017, is returning to the city clerk’s position in the Humboldt County seat community after a 10-month absence.
“I liked my job in Algona, but I loved my job here. I wouldn’t have left except having an opportunity with another municipal government in the town where I was living,” said Berry.
The Dakota City Council held a special meeting Monday night to approve Berry's hiring and to pass a resolution to readvertise the water well project as three separate contracts, one for the well construction, pumping equipment and piping, one for the construction of a raw water main and reconstruction of a storm sewer, and another portion for the electrical controls for the well and water plant. Bids for the projects will be due at Dakota City Hall on Friday, March 9 at 1 p.m.
