You’ve probably heard a lot of restaurants claim they have food “just like mother used to make.”
In the case of Humboldt’s Joe Alvarez, it’s a verifiable fact. If you don’t believe Joe, just ask his mother, Cleo Alvarez.
You see, Joe is using many of his mother’s and his family’s recipes in his new Tex Mex restaurant, Burrito Mexpress.
Located on Highway 3, east of Larry’s Pharmacy in the former North Central Iowa Service building, Alvarez promises good home cooked recipes with fresh ingredients.
The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Read more about it in this week's Humboldt Independent. Subscribe today by clicking on the link at the top of this page and read all of what you are missing.
