Busse, Johnson advance to state wrestling!

Humboldt High School will be represented by Joey Busse and Brandon Johnson in this week's Class 2A state wrestling tournament in Des Moines. Both earned runner-up finishes at their respective weights in a 2A district meet in Webster City on Saturday, Feb. 10.
Busse went 2-1 on the day and finished second at 145 pounds and Johnson was 1-1 in taking second at 220 pounds. The state tournament will take place at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. 2A first round action begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15. Busse, 41-4, will face CCA junior Andrew Rohret (37-13) in his opening match at state. Johnson, 31-13, will tangle with OABC senior Tyler Anderson (37-3).
