Humboldt girls sidelined by Algona in Region 2 opener, 60-32

Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team saw their season come to an end Saturday night (Feb. 10) in a 60-32 loss to Algona in a Class 3A Region 2 opening round game in the Algona gym. Humboldt falls to 5-16 overall.
Algona will move on and face Forest City, a 58-43 winner over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. In the other half of the region, Iowa Falls-Alden stopped Hampton-Dumont (49-38) and Clear Lake topped Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, 64-38.
