Humboldt boys fall at Storm Lake, district opener moved to Feb. 20

The Humboldt boys basketball team closed out their regular season at Storm Lake on Thursday night (Feb. 15) and lost a 53-45 non-conference game to the Tornadoes. Jamison Heinz scored 13 points and Jack Arndt made 12 to pace Humboldt, 7-14 overall. Charm Deng scored 14 to pace Storm Lake (12-9).

Humboldt battled the Carroll Tigers for 32 minutes before falling, 81-71 in a non-conference game in the Humboldt gym on Monday night (Feb. 12).

Calvin Carlson poured in 29 points to lead the Wildcats. Jacob Thurm was next with 17 points and Austin Brant added nine. Carroll, 15-5, was led by Buomkuoth Lol with 21.

Humboldt will begin post-season tournament play at Waverly on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in a Class 3A District Tournament game which starts at 7:30 p.m. The game was rescheduled from Feb. 19 due to inclement weather.
