One of the highlights in last week’s Humboldt girls basketball banquet was the all-conference recognition for senior Sydney Lane, who was named second-team All-North Central Conference.
The six-foot Lane averaged 9.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in her starting role for the Wildcats. She also had 40 blocked shots on the season. She was the number one shot blocker in the NCC.
In addition, Lane has been selected to play in the Larry Niemeyer Class 3A All-Star game in Cedar Rapids on April 7.
Lane was the lone returning letterwinner for the Wildcats going into the past season. She was one of nine seniors on the squad. Other seniors include Cassie Peyton, Hannah Nielsen, Tabitha Jergens, Olivia Hjelmeland, Rachel Darling, Brianna Jenson, Maggie Bennett and Gabby Kent.
