Snow emergency in effect; Soundsations postponed


A blizzard warning has been issued for Humboldt County until 1 a.m. Sunday, April 15. Snowfall totaling 3-6 inches with strong northwesterly winds of 25-30 miles an hour with some gusts up to 50 miles an hour are possible. Travel unless absolutely necessary is not advised. People needing to travel should take a survival kit and alert people where they are traveling to, of their route and expected arrival time.

The city of Humboldt has declared a snow emergency from 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 until noon Sunday, April 15. All vehicles on residential streets should be removed prior to snow removal operations. Also, Soundsations school program at Humboldt High School has been postponed due to the winter storm.
