3-peat for Wildcat boys track!

Humboldt's boys won their third consecutive North Central Conference track and field championship Monday night (May 7), scoring 162 points to claim the team title over runner-up Algona which had 140.5. Iowa Falls-Alden was third at 136 and Webster City was fourth with 101.5.

Humboldt senior Denny Pederson held off Devin Sheridan of IFA on the final leg of the final race of the night, the 4x400 relay, to lock up the title for Humboldt.

The Wildcats will now set their sights on the state qualifying meet on Thursday, May 10 at Nevada. The top two place winners in each event, along with the next best times and distances statewide, will advance to the state meet in Des Moines May 17-19.
