Humboldt track teams have 20 entries to state!

Humboldt’s girls and boys combined for 19 entries into the upcoming state track meet in Des Moines after competing in a qualifying meet in Nevada Thursday, May 10.

The girls advance Bryce Gidel in the 1,500 and 3,000 meters, along with Lily Groat in the 100 meter hurdles. The shuttle hurdle relay, distance medley relay, sprint medley relay and 4x400 relays also advance, along with Rachel Darling in the discus.

The Wildcat boys will send Jamison Heinz and Matt Miller in the Long Jump, Heinz in the 100 meters and Denny Peterson and Heinz in the 200. Miller and Pederson have both qualified in the 400 meters. Quinton Orr has qualified in the 3,200 meters. The 4x800 and shuttle hurdle relay also advance, along with the sprint medley relay and the 4x400 relay.

Class 3A state meet action begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 inside Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
