Wildcat 4x400 relay runs 3rd in state track

Humboldt's 4x400 relay of Matt Miller, Jamison Heinz, Cale Hundertmark and Denny Pederson placed third in 1:01.65 to lead Humboldt's entries in the Class 3A state track and field championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines last week (May 17-19).

Bryce Gidel placed eighth in the 1,500 meters in 4:54.68 and ran ninth in the 3,000 meters to lead the Humboldt girls.
Matt Miller also ran ninth in the 400 meters. Gidel finished the 3,000 in 10:52.96 while Miller clocked 50.31 seconds in the 400.

Humboldt senior Denny Pederson placed eighth in the 200 meters finals.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, Humboldt's girls ran 17th in 10:10.65. The relay consisted of Jori Hajek, Kailee Dettmann, Claire Varangkounh and Lily Groat. The boys' shuttle hurdle relay ran 16th overall in 1:01.65. The Wildcat boys' 4x800 relay ran 21st in 8:35.36. The relay was comprised of Caiden Baker, Eric Wittrock, Noah Helmer and Calvin Carlson.
